The LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas is seeking nominations for our upcoming World AIDS Day Awards Dinner 2025 (WADAD). WADAD recognizes and celebrates individuals who have done exemplary work in the HIV field within our community. This is our time to express our appreciation for their impact and commitment to the well-being of all the people we serve.
With your nominations, we can better identify those individuals whose work deserves attention and highlighting.
The three categories are Provider Of The Year, Advocate Of The Year, and Community Partner Of The Year. All submissions are due by Monday, November 10th and should be emailed to Kiande Jakada, HIV Health Educator at The Center at: kjakada@thecenterlv.org.
Please provide us with your nomination for each category, as well as a few sentences to support your nominee. We value your suggestions and input, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
Nominee Requirements:
Provider Of The Year
The nominee must be a health-care provider, clinic, organization or individual whose work involves HIV treatment, care, support or prevention. The nominee should show innovation or excellence in HIV-related care, prevention, service delivery, education or advocacy.
Community Partner Of The Year
The nominee must be a community-based organization, partner organization, or collaborative group that works alongside HIV prevention, care or support services. The nominee must demonstrate a sustained commitment (for example, 1-3 years or more) of service or partnership in the HIV field.
Advocate Of The Year
The nominee must be an individual who has actively engaged in HIV-related advocacy (prevention, care, policy, education, stigma reduction, etc.) and has demonstrated sustained impact in the HIV field (rather than a one-off action).
This year's World AIDS Day Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
