In recognition of World AIDS Day 2025, The LGBTQ+ Center presented our annual World AIDS Day Awards Dinner on Thursday, December 4th, to honor and celebrate individuals in our community who have done exemplary work in the field of HIV Prevention, Care and Advocacy.

The evening brought together community partners and friends to partake in a catered dinner, a time to network and purchase beautiful artwork from local vendors, and the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of their peers and colleagues. The theme of the evening was “Celebrating Our Rainbow Dreams” and the overall color scheme was “colors of the rainbow”.

All of the award recipients were shining examples of excellence in the field of HIV. It was truly our honor to celebrate them for their tireless work, dedication, and commitment to strengthening our communities. The award recipients were:

Provider of the Year: Dr. Alireza Farabi, MD

Community Advocate of the Year: Jesse Santos

Community Partner of the Year: Sin Sity Sisters

We are grateful to be in a community with such extraordinary individuals. This year’s awards dinner was not only a time to celebrate the honorees, but also a time to remind us of our diversity, our individuality, and the unique colors we bring to the world. That colorful Light encourages us to take meaningful action: to strengthen community support, expand awareness, and ensure that everyone is seen, heard and valued.

Thank you to all who attended and made it a memorable night.
