A Gathering on National Coming Out Day

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, The LGBTQ Center and The Gender Confirmation Center of San Francisco will host Together in Transition: Resources, Community, and Celebration, a free community event designed to connect, inform, and uplift the trans and gender diverse community in Southern Nevada. The event will take place from 1:00–5:00 PM at The Center, located at 401 S. Maryland Pkwy.

This special gathering coincides with National Coming Out Day and Vegas Pride, recognizing the courage of those who share their stories while also providing practical resources and connections for people seeking support, care, and community.

What to Expect

Together in Transition will feature a local resource fair with up to 15 vendors and organizations that support the trans community. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local service providers, ask questions, and leave with information that can make a difference.

The event will also host a panel conversation with nationally recognized surgeons and leadership from the Gender Confirmation Center, alongside leaders from The Center Las Vegas. This open discussion will focus on care, access, and next steps for individuals considering or navigating gender-affirming care.

As Dr. Alexander Facque, board-certified plastic surgeon at the Gender Confirmation Center, explains: “Care starts with connection. When people can sit down, ask questions, and feel heard, the next step becomes possible. We are honored to gather with The Center Las Vegas and the local community on a day that means a great deal to many. As GCC marks 20 years of serving the transgender community, our focus remains the same: clear information, compassionate care, and partnerships that strengthen access.”

In addition to the fair and panel, attendees can enjoy food and beverage while connecting with others in a welcoming space.

A Space for Community

At its heart, Together in Transition is about building community.

Torri Shack, Head of Programs at The Center Las Vegas, emphasizes the importance of creating opportunities for connection: “The Center exists to bring people together and to make support easier to find. Together in Transition is about meeting people where they are and making sure they leave with what they need, whether that is a conversation, a resource, or a sense of belonging.”

This event is open to trans and gender diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ people, families, allies, and anyone committed to building a more supportive and inclusive Las Vegas.

Vendor and Resource Partner Opportunities

Local organizations that support the trans community are invited to table at the event. Vendor participation is free of charge, though space is limited to 15 tables. Please email Torri Shack for details at tshack@thecenterlv.org.
