401 S. Maryland Parkway

The energy was palpable as we celebrated the reopening of the cyber center at The LGBTQ+ Center of Las Vegas (The Center), located at 401 S Maryland Parkway. This space has long been a cornerstone for connection, learning, and opportunity, and its reopening marks an exciting step forward for the thousands of community members who rely on it each year.

We were honored to welcome Paul Moore, Executive Director of the David Bohnett Foundation, whose presence underscored the importance of this resource and the strong partnership that continues to sustain it.

A Beloved Community Hub

The David Bohnett Cyber Center at The Center is more than just a computer lab — it’s a lifeline. Each year, more than 7,000 logged users walk through its doors, including youth, educators, seniors, unhoused guests, and other visitors seeking access to technology.

Guests use the computers for a wide range of essential activities, including:

  • Pursuing educational goals
  • Workforce development and job searches
  • Staying connected with family and loved ones
  • Accessing entertainment and online resources

For many, the Cyber Center provides access they simply wouldn’t have elsewhere, helping bridge the digital divide in Southern Nevada.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Opportunities

In the coming year, The Center’s Director of Program Development plans to launch a workforce development and digital tools training program specifically designed for the Las Vegas community that The Center serves. The Cyber Center will play a critical role in delivering this programming, equipping participants with skills that can open doors to new career pathways and greater economic stability.

The Need for Critical Updates

With heavy daily use, the technology has experienced significant wear. To continue meeting the growing demand, the gift to the The Center has helped upgrade and replace equipment, ensuring the Cyber Center remains reliable, accessible, and ready to support the community’s needs.

Gratitude for Continued Partnership

The Center is deeply grateful for the continued support of the David Bohnett Foundation, whose partnership has been instrumental in sustaining this vital resource. We are proud to share that the Foundation has contributed $10,000 toward the David Bohnett Cyber Center refresh, helping ensure the space can continue serving thousands of community members each year.

Moving Forward Together

The reopening of the Cyber Center is both a celebration and a reminder of what’s possible when community and partners come together with a shared vision. With renewed support and planned upgrades, this space will continue to empower individuals with the tools, skills, and connections they need to thrive.
