On Sunday, June 15, The LGBTQ Center hosted a first-of-its-kind Juneteenth Pride Block Party—a vibrant, joyful celebration honoring Black liberation and queer pride. With nearly 190 attendees, 29 vendors, and performances that lit up the afternoon, the event exceeded all expectations and brought together a truly beautiful cross-section of our community.
From the moment the doors opened to the final beats of the DJ’s set, our space was alive with energy—filled with dancing, laughter, meaningful conversations, and the aroma of incredible local food. Families, couples, longtime Center supporters, and first-time visitors all came together for a high-vibe afternoon of music, performances, food trucks, children's activities, and heartfelt community connection.

A Collective Effort
This event was made possible through deep collaboration, especially with Black LGBTQ+ leaders and organizations who helped shape the event from the ground up. We’re proud to share that:
- 29 vendors in attendance—all volunteering their time and talents, and made meaningful community connections.
- A mix of live performances—including spoken word, vogue, and vocalists—filled the room with creativity and emotion.
- Guests experienced an indoor cookout vibe where all were welcome, seen, and celebrated.
Thank You to Our Partners!
We extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible internal team, volunteers, and external partners who brought this vision to life:
- All of The LGBTQ Center staff and team members that came together to make this event possible
- Our hosts, DJ, and décor team for keeping the energy high and the space beautiful all afternoon
- House of Vegas Pride, who secured our DJ, host, and additional vendors
- Undi, for managing external promotion and marketing
- Kalvin and Uncloaked, for coordinating additional décor and enhancements
- Desi, for booking and managing our incredible lineup of performers
- Kendra and Chrissy, our Black LGBTQ+ group facilitators, for helping guests feel seen and welcomed throughout the day
Looking Ahead
The Juneteenth Pride Block Party showed what’s possible when we come together to co-create spaces that are inclusive, joyful, and rooted in community care. We saw firsthand how powerful the response is when people feel genuinely invited, included, and celebrated.
We're already planning future events that continue this momentum—and we're so grateful to everyone who helped build this moment with us.
