Transitioning to Phase 1
On behalf of The Center staff, our governing and associate boards, and our community partners, we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and staying well as we all continue to navigate the COVID-19 crisis.
We have been honored to continue serving the community through our food delivery services, crisis management, harm reduction and clothing distribution, and the delivery of programs and services through the Online Center.
The Center team will remain available in service to the community throughout the phases of reopening as instructed by Governor Sisolak. The governor indicated community centers will not fully open in phase one. Therefore, The Center will continue delivering services as we have from the beginning of the crisis. The Online Center will remain the primary method of delivery for programming and we will continue maintaining a small team onsite for limited services.
The Center has remained stable as we navigate economic challenges due to the generosity and incredible kindness of our supporters. We are also grateful to have received some relief from government Covid-19 financial programs. We continue to seek relief as we maintain an active workforce mostly operating from home and we are working with our donors and funding sources to build for an even better future.
I am proud of The Center team and their steadfast commitment to serving every person who has reached out for assistance. The resiliency we have witnessed in our community is an inspiration and a source of hope for our future. LGBTQ people are accustomed to challenges and we have a remarkable and tenacious capacity to overcome great adversity. The current crisis is an opportunity to strengthen our community in Southern Nevada as we support one another in recovery. The Center team is sincerely committed and honored to be in loving service to our LGBTQ family.
As soon as the Governor announces the launch of phase two, we will communicate a detailed plan for reopening the doors of The Center and welcoming the community home.
In pride and resiliency,
