The Center Remains Open, Moves Programs and Events Online
The LGBTQ Community Center of Southern Nevada (The Center) is committed to serving our community throughout this unprecedented health crisis. In response to the Governor’s announcement today, The Center team will continue with its current response to the crisis by not permitting any type of assembly of groups on site.
However, our committed Center team will continue providing essential services for our community. We will remain open to assist individuals in our community who may be in crisis or immediate need. We will also continue providing mental health services through Affirmations in partnership with Community Counseling Center. The Center team continues to work with other LGBTQ organizations to help vulnerable populations including our seniors and individuals and families facing unemployment.
The Center is a vital resource for our community and from the start of the crisis we have been making preparations for opening an online version of The Center so that we can continue as much programming as possible. Our website will provide the latest information regarding our online programming starting tomorrow. Please visit https://thecenterlv.org/online for the most up-to-date information as well as links to download free software that you can use to participate online.
We understand these are trying times for everyone. The Center staff continues to operate as best we can within the imposed limitations. Public health and safety must come first. Compassion, flexibility, and staying informed are our best tools right now. We are working on your behalf to provide accurate and timely support, information, and advocacy for our remarkable LGBTQ+ community.
