The Center Celebrates 7 Years at the Robert L. Forbuss Building

Today, The LGBTQ Community Center of Southern Nevada (The Center) celebrates seven years since the doors opened to the Robert L Forbuss Building, a safe and affirming place for LGBTQ individuals and families to gather and build community. We are grateful for the commitment, hard work, and passion of the team who provided a home where people from diverse backgrounds could find support, advocacy, healing, and the joy of family. Many of the pioneers who made The Center possible are pictured here.

As we continue to navigate unprecedented times, The Center will remain a beacon of hope, providing essential services to those in need. We are working through the crisis offering programming and services through the Online Center, and providing crisis intervention services, including meals for so many who are isolated. We see the great need in our community, and we know so many of our neighbors face economic challenges, in addition to the threat of the COVID-19 virus. We promise to be as close to the front lines as we can, and we will not give up in our commitment to serve.

A match was offered by one of our supporters last week, who committed to matching $25,000 in donations to help The Center sustain its services, allowing staff to remain employed while serving through the crisis. For those who are able, please consider making a generous donation.

All of us at The Center wish everyone safety, good health, and hope as we work through a crisis that has united us all.
