The Director of Development is part of the senior management team for the organization and reports directly to the CEO. The Director of Development provides the leadership, strategic direction, management and coordination for all aspects of The Center’s fundraising efforts and manages the development department in a fiscally sound manner.
The Development Director works with the CEO, an active Governing Board, Associate Board and appropriate committees to engage and lead in various fundraising efforts. The position requires sound fundraising judgment, a collaborative work ethic, strong organizational skills and excellent written and spoken communication.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A seasoned fundraising executive with a minimum of 5-7 years of successful development experience, including 3+ years as the manager of a high performing team and a complex fundraising program, in a sophisticated organization, with a reputation for excellence. A demonstrable track record of personally identifying, cultivating and soliciting individual donors, corporations and foundations for support is essential. Strong marketing skills, knowledge of audience research, and fluency with social and digital media. Experience with LGBTQ, and low to moderate income constituencies, while not required, is desirable. Equivalent profit sector experience in sales, marketing, or other related disciplines coupled with nonprofit volunteer work will also be considered.
